Same Old, Same Old

The one is a selfie with the missionaries we met up with today.

Today me and Elder Bostock were able to go over to East El Paso and do some stuff. We met some other missionaries there, one of which goes home at the end of this transfer. We were able to go to a mall over there! Everything on the East side of El Paso is new. Downtown El Paso and West El Paso are the old areas. All of the old people live here. But on the East side, its all under construction and all new. And so its fun to go over there sometimes! Also when you are on the East side, you are right next to the Mexico boarder. Like it is right there. Its such a different lifestyle and its literally right there. But that was fun and that happened today.

Saturday was Elder Bostocks Birthday! And we had service at 8 am and were there till about 1 pm. I don't know the name of the people we were helping, something like re-build El Paso or something like that. But we were able to help at this house, cleaning the yard and then after we got all the yard work done, we were able to paint the house. And it is incredible how good it looked from the before to after. Also the news came over and recorded stuff and they got a little of the missionaries and so I was on El Paso news. No big deal. But the service was awesome. You can see how grateful the people are, but not only did they feel good and thankful, we did too! Service is a great way to brighten anyone's day! So look for the little opportunities to serve!

We started teaching a new lady this week. She is from Chihuahua and came with her two little girls. She has an uncle who is a member up in Utah. When we met with her she said she could see the peace in his life and that's what she wants. And so this week when we talked to her we could see that she is super ready for the gospel in her life. Its so cool to see how God prepares people. Even if it is in ways that are difficult or just seem weird. But he always has a way for us! It was funny because when we were talking to her, she was asking about church and she asked if she would be able to go. She said, "I went up to Utah for my uncles wedding and they told me that I couldn't come in, and that I had to be a member. So do I need to be a member to come to the temple on Sunday?" We were able to explain the difference between temples and church. But we are hoping everything goes well with her. Shes excited to learn and we are beyond excited to teach her!

Besides that nothing special happened this week. Ester has a baptismal date for April 27, and so we are helping her with that and hoping that goes good for her. I love you all! Have a great week!
Elder Jackson
