Mexican Independence Day Fiesta

Angel, my favorite kid ever
Good afternoon Everyone!I won't try to take up to much of your time. This past week was awesome! We stayed plenty busy working and ended the week with a sick fiesta with the branch. We went and helped our branch president set up for the party. It was decorated that is for sure. They had everyone just bring a dish to share with everyone. So there were flautas, enchiladas, mole, chili colorado, frijoles, arroz, elote, and so much more!! Needless to say, if you went home hungry, it was your own fault. After visiting and talking with everyone, there was a little show. They had all the different auxileries do little dances and then had people come up and dance and sing and it was so fun! I am blessed to be in this culture! A lot of the pictures this week are from the fiesta. We had a new missionary with us and so before ging home, we had to go get a churro because they are so good!

On Friday we were at a lesson with Elpidio, our recent convert. And we talked with his wife about baptism. She said she feels ready it is just she works Sundays. So we promised blessings and asked if she would talk with her boss to see if she can come some Sundays because she told us she feels ready! So we are hoping that everything with her goes well. They have a granddaughter that lives with them. During our lesson she was really snoopy. Elpidio in the past had told us she isn't interested in religion at all but before leaving she asked us if next time we come if we could answer some questions she has. So I am excited for that and we are actually going back tonight!

Spiritual thought!! I was reading 2 Nephi this last week. I love chapter 2 because it talks about why we are on this earth. Verse 25 Adam fell that men might be and men are that they might have joy. So many people think ugh because of Adam and Eve we are here and life sucks and just complain. But truth is that because of them, we can have joy! There are so many things that bring joy. So my invitation this week is to look for things that bring you joy. I bet there are more than you think:)
