Angry Birds

Good afternoon everyone!! Wow was this week something else. I have some good stories for you, or at least I think they are pretty funny. Monday night we had a call with the whole mission and it was over zoom and so we could see everyone. When quarantine first started, we were told no haircuts, not even your companion can cut your hair; but Monday night we saw some pretty fresh cuts. Which wasn't fair cause we are just trying to be obedient out here! So we asked what's up with all the fresh cuts. Well long story short we got the permission to go get a haircut since we looked like a bunch of mops. Man we went as soon as we could to get a haircut. We got there and they said, no walk ins, just appointments. So we left and then called. Well he says, "we can fit you in tomorrow." We said, "oh okay, well we will call back later." Right then he says, "oh wait, I can fit you in at 4." haha got em'! At 10 we were going to film a video. We head over to the other apartment complex and we are waiting for some people under the tree and while we are waiting Elder Libby gets pooped on by a pigeon! Yuck! So we went home so he could clean up, go back and do the video.
Well the rest of the day, we are not happy with pigeons. 4 finally comes around and we are so happy! Finally a haircut. Well we get our haircuts, it took him a couple tries to get Elder Libby's haircut right, but we did it. Well it came time to pay and they were like oh cash only. Really we don't have cash. Who carries cash with them these days?! So they said "hey, run to the gas station and buy us a monster (they gave us money for that) and pull out money." So we run to the gas station, get up to the counter and they don't do cash back. What the.... so we have to run all the way home where we did have cash. Mind you, we are picking up dinner in 15 minutes. So we are skirting back to the apartment. We took some back roads to get to our apartment a little faster. Well we were driving down this one road and there was something in the road. Well right as we are approaching it a pigeon starts landing on it to get it. WE HIT THE FREAKING PIGEON!! We didn't feel anything so we both look behind us and there is just a cloud of feathers. Yeah and so driving back later, we ran him over with the tire. We laughed cause don't poop on my companion again. As of this point it was 1 us and 1 for the pigeons. We ran back, paid for the haircuts, and then picked dinner up 30 minutes late. haha oops!
In the past I have mentioned that with the new Facebook pages, we make videos for them. Well this week we finished a puzzle that we had. It is the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew. So we did a picture motion thing where we made a video (with the help of a member) of the puzzle being made piece by piece. We hung a clipboard from the ceiling after punching a hole in each of the corners. And then knocked out a hole for the phone camera. And so what we could do is Elder Libby would pull out a puzzle piece and then I would take the picture. But we had a two second timer on the camera so we could run out of the way for the lighting. Well out 500 piece puzzle took 2 hours to do! Plus our AC was not working and so it was hot and long.... but the end result was sooo worth it!!! I can't attach it to here but tomorrow we are putting it on our Facebook page and me on my personal page and so go check it out and share it! We have to get super creative for these videos. More videos coming your way:)
Last story, not as funny but amazing! Yesterday we went over to the Parga's for the sacrament. So funny story, me and Elder Libby forgot to take the sacrament last week, don't ask how cause I don't know. I guess we were that busy. so it was so nice to be able to take the sacrament with someone we are teaching. We talked with her and her mom and set a baptismal date of June 13th. We are so excited for them. Always a pleasure going over to their house. We are so happy for her! It was super special to me because she asked if I would baptize her. I have been working with her this whole time and Satan really doesn't want her baptized. He has thrown in Corona, family not being able to come from Juarez, a spiratic trip to Mexico City. But I know we are going to do it this time. It's her time!

I have been blessed to have Elder Libby as my companion. We get along really well and it seems like we are always laughing at something. I wouldn't hesitate to say this might be the happiest I have been on my mission. I have truly sent he joy of the gospel and living it. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for us so that as we turn to Him, we can have this joy, no matter what we are going through. Life is hard and we aren't perfect, but God doesn't expect us to be perfect, He just expects us to try. I have learned and seen that I am not perfect, but as I rely on Jesus Christ and His atonement, he makes up for it and takes what I have and makes it into what He needs me to be. I am grateful to be a missionary right now. Truly blessed :)
