Elder Bradyn Jackson 14th Ward Newsletter Write up

Bradyn has been on his mission for nearly 8 months now serving in the Albuquerque New Mexico Mission, Spanish speaking. He had the opportunity to go to the Mexico MTC where he spent three months. His first area was El Paso, Texas where he served for three months. He is currently serving in Fabens, Texas which is 40 miles South of El Paso, Texas. He said just the other day he is at the point with his Spanish that he doesn’t have to think before he speaks, he is beginning to just speak the language. He has been blessed to serve in the most southern regions of his mission where people really only speak Spanish. Bradyn has been blessed with the opportunity to serve with members who love missionary work and who help the missionaries every chance they get. He has been blessed with people who have been ready to receive the gospel and Christ into their lives. One person he has been able to meet, teach and lead to the waters of baptism is Liliana. She came to the United States not long ago and lived here for months before she had met a missionary. Bradyn said he loved to be able to see the light come into her eyes as she felt the Holy Ghost and was beginning to build a testimony for herself. As Bradyn writes home each week he makes sure we know he has a testimony of the gospel and the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Atonement. He said recently, “I was reading in Alma 48 the other day and verse 15 hit me like a rock! Here is what I learned, verse 15. ‘And this was their faith, that by so doing God would prosper them in the land, or in other words, if they were faithful in keeping the commandments of God that he would prosper them in the land; yea, warn them to flee, or to prepare for war, according to the danger.’ This hit home! We are literally promised when we keep the commandments of God, he will protect us. With the world we live in today, we NEED His protection. So keep the commandments! You will be blessed for it.”
