Sleepover!!

Bradyn by a cotton field
Good morning everyone! This week wasn't too crazy, well at least the first part of it. I wasn't even going to write this week and then our week ended pretty lit. So.... Halloween was this week! On the 30th, we had our ward Halloween party. It was super fun. They had hamburgers and nachos with plenty of games for the kids. It was good to just talk with everyone. One of the games the kids played was the guy with the microphone would say, "I'm looking for (and then would say a costume of an adult." And so for one of them he said, "I am looking for an Elder taller than six feet." So then all the kids ran over to me and drug me over. And so one of the pictures is me with all the kids after being drug over. I was afraid I was going to run one over because they were all over me and trying to drag me. But it was super fun!

AJ at his baptism
AJ was baptized this week!! I have loved working with AJ and seeing the change in his life. I was talking with someone in the ward and he told us that many missionaries have tried working with AJ and they could never get him to do anything. The baptism was super awesome too. We had an awesome turnout! We had to start in the Sacrament meeting room. Moved into the baptism room for the ordinance, then back into the sacrament meeting room. After the baptism and everything, one of the sisters brought a bunch of cupcakes and so we got some cupcakes and just talked. We also took a big group picture and so I will see if I can get that. And then Sunday he was confirmed un miembro de la iglesia de jesucristo de los santos de los ultimos dias! Super exciting and something really special about it is that his best friend was able to baptize and confirm him. He is going to be a really awesome member.

Alright so last night we got home to our apartment and it smelled really heavily of gas. We didn't really acknowledge the problem but after being in there for a while I could still smell the gas. So we called out housing coordinator and he was like get out now. And luckily he was in El Paso but an hour away. And so he came on his way. We called maintenance for our apartment who couldn't find any leaks or anything. So we just chilled outside for like two and a half hours. So boring. But then our housing coordinator got there and the gas smell was still there after turning all the meters off. So then came the fire department. It was getting really late and since the housing coordinator was there he told us that we were going to go and spend the night with our zone leaders!! They are my favorite Elders! And.... SLEEPOVER!! So we got to their apartment at like 11. And there is a chance we stay the night with them again tonight depending on how everything is going. So that made for a very exciting night and a fun story. We took a selfie with a fire department truck before leaving so we could have something to remember this by. But don't worry, as far as I know, everyone is safe.

Okay spiritual thought! I was reading an article from a magazine this week and in the article, it asked a question that really hit me hard. "Is Heavenly Father someone you talk to as much as the people you text or message with on social media?" Even as a missionary this hit me hard! In Alma 37 we learn about the importance of prayer. Prayer is so important. It is the way we are able to communicate with our Heavenly Father. We are able to just talk with him, ask for blessings, and express what we are grateful for. There really is power from prayer. So consider this question and if you hesitate about the answer or aren't sure, change.
