Where do I even begin!!! Life is so amazing. Now I don't know a whole lot about what has been going on out in the world, but what I do know is that as we turn our everything to the Lord, he blesses us for it and we are happy. Just simply happy and full of joy. This week has been without a doubt the busiest week of my whole mission, yet probably the happiest. Monday night we went up to a place called mammoth rock, I have talked about it before. We recorded a video for a film we are making (which is going to turn out super good!!). We had to stay a minute longer to catch the sunset. We made videos while up there so that we were effective with our time.
Tuesday was a super long day.... we had MLC which ended up being about eight hours long. Which is normal for a MLC. But what made it horrible was the fact that they talked about the same stuff over and over and stuff we have talked about so much in the past. Felt like we were beating a dead horse. But looking at the bright side, we did learn stuff that will help us take our videos and missionary work to the next level. From good to better and eventually best. After MLC we got together with the Sister Training Leaders and made plans and everything to help us stay organized and help everything run smoother. Everything is looking up!
We got a call from a lady last week asking if we could come help her cause her dad fell. Sadly we couldn't but after getting off the phone with her, I said to Elder Libby, "that's sad her dad falled." Man, English is hard....
Honestly Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday were a blur. They went by super fast. We did lots of video making, planning for zone council, lessons, and saw tons of miracles! We are teaching about five people right now but every single one of them have been prepared and are super ready. I have talked about Damaris in the past, she is the one who was going to get baptized but then couldn't leave Mexico City in time to make it back. Well her baptism is coming up and we are excited for that. But another one of our friends really touched me this last week. She has been taught for a while by sister missionaries in another ward. She had some things that she just wouldn't change which would have held her back from being baptized. Well the sisters that were teaching her felt really strongly that we needed to start teaching her. So as hard as it was for them, they sent her over. We have worked and worked and worked. She has a baptismal date for June 10th. This last week we just had to be really bold telling her "If you aren't able to change this, then you won't be baptized." I know sounds harsh but it worked. Boldness with love is what she needed. It was hard for her to change what we had asked her to but she did. She wants to be baptized and make those covenants with God. Ever since that lesson, our lessons have been so spiritual, some of the most powerful I have had. And this last week she had the chance to zoom call into another baptism in the mission. We texted her after asking how she felt and she said, "At peace, it was absolutly beautiful." AHHHHH she is so ready and amazing.
Saturday we had the opportunity to hear from Brad Wilcox. He zoomed into our mission and the Phoenix Arizona mission and gave us a devotional. It was about the gathering of Israel and the 12 tribes of Israel. I learned so much. He had our attention the whold time and I wish we could have listened to him all day long. He talked about who we really are. How yes we are children of God, and yes we were saved to come to earth at this time. But so was I, and you, and everyone else who lives is a child of god and saved for this time. Regardless of whether they are a member of the church or not. That's where he wanted to go past the "primary answer" and talk about Birthright. We are children of a birthright. Of course he expanded on that and more. I learned so much. Absolutly uplifting.
In MLC, President shared Alma 26:35, 37 which say,
"35 Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name...
37 Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen"
God is the Lord Omnipotent and Omniscient. Or in other words he is all powerful and all knowing. He can do anything and yet so many people turn away from his for desires of the world. Thinking that God is the reason all this is happening. That if there is a God, where is he in all this. Well he is there, but are you there for Him? If he asked you to do something would you do it? Would you even be able to hear His voice? God sees everything, he knows the beginning from the end. For me I like to look at it as a puzzle. God can see the whole puzzle and right now we can only see pieces. That is why it is so important to trust in "him who knoweth all things" 2 Nephi 2:24. We don't know everything but thats okay, we don't need to know everything. We know our father, and we know he loves us. As we rely on him, we will be able to live in joy and happiness through trials we face.
